About Mary Garthe

In 1988 Mary Garthe Productions was retained by the developers of Copley Place/Boston—whose tenants include Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus, and Tiffany’s—to produce a series of monthly fashion-show luncheons at the Westin Hotel from September through December, featuring fashions from five Copley Place stores.

Following the success of the Copley Place shows, Ms. Garthe’s reputation in planning and producing fashion events has brought her such clients as the Boston Ballet, the French Library, the Canadian Consulate General/Boston, Hilary Radley/Montreal, and the Quebec skiwear industry.

Ms. Garthe also produced the Westin Hotel’s new wedding package at a luncheon fashion show featuring Boston’s top bridal houses, and a bridal fashion show in the Boston Design Center that was followed by a cruisewear show aboard an international cruise ship—an event sponsored by New England Brides magazine.

Early in her career Ms. Garthe established PAPERMOON, a women’s specialty store in Marblehead, Mass., where she saw gross revenues triple in her 12 years of ownership through sourcing and buying strategies, and creative marketing techniques.

Author of Fashion and Color, published in four languages. Ms. Garthe has served as co-regional director of Fashion Group International/Boston, a global association of professionals representing the fashion and design industries.
